DR. PETER HOLZHAUER, MD
Specialist for internal medicine – naturopathic treatment, special examination and treatment methods: complementary medicine
Peter Holzhauer, MD, is a specialist in internal medicine and holds the additional title of naturopathy. From 1991 to mid-2011, Dr. Holzhauer was head physician and medical director of the Veramed-Klinik am Wendelstein, a specialist clinic for internal tumor treatment. Since August 2011, Dr. Holzhauer has been leading as chief physician the Internal Medicine II, Department of Oncology and Complementary Medicine at the Oncology Center Oberaudorf, Klinik Bad Trissl. Previously, Dr. Holzhauer completed his study of human medicine at the University of Göttingen and did his specialist training at various hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.
The focus of the activity lies in the integration of supportive complementary medical treatment measures and conventional oncological standard therapies. The main focus is on the fatigue syndrome in tumor patients and on the management of side effects during chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Special emphasis is placed on modern nutritional medicine and on micronutrient therapy.
Dr. Holzhauer is editor of the German Journal of Oncology (DZO) and publishes articles on current complementary medicine topics on a regular basis.
